Temperatures are really starting to rise here in Nashville, and whenever it’s getting warmer outside my body always craves a cool and refreshing treat.

Temperatures are really starting to rise here in Nashville, and whenever it’s getting warmer outside my body always craves a cool and refreshing treat. Instead of reaching for a frozen treat that might not be very healthy, I like to whip up this quick smoothie and find instant refreshment from the frozen fruits and veggies and crisp basil. The coconut milk adds extra healthy fats so that you can drink this for breakfast and stay full all morning! To get the whole recipe, keep reading!

A dairy free, light but filling smoothie with fresh basil and strawberries with added healthy fats for a refreshing snack or breakfast.
Ingredients
1 cup filtered water
1 cup canned light coconut milk
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup frozen chopped zucchini
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
Juice of 1 lemon
2 pitted dates
Instructions
In a high-speed blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Add ice if you’d like to chill further or serve over ice. Serve and enjoy immediately.
